Mafia or Non-Mafia and What is an “Elected Official”?

These posts are not designed to be artful. Trying to keep them plain and get the information across, mostly to newcomers and young people who are unaware of even small things going on. I’m not your father, just someone who has been around. This is actually an important topic for people to talk about, think about because it matters WHO you LISTEN TO.

I’ve noticed in the U.S.A. people don’t always ASK who someone actually is. Because without this information, it can be difficult to know WHERE the information and experiences they have came from. And why they got them. Knowing your source may save or damage your lifetime. It can be that influential. It gets worrisome if people tell others who they are and they don’t know what it means. Sometimes information gets dropped by people the best way they can and it may be missed, misread, not gathered or understood correctly. The old saying, “Please don’t kill the messenger” exists because often the messenger is not always aware of who they are delivering to or why or the subtext. Also, sometimes people get sent an “elected official” who may not have specific information, just specialized knowledge and education that can help solve problems. It means you have to talk with them. They may or may not be leadership.

What is an “elected official”? Someone likely CHOSEN to show up somewhere and talk to people to “officiate”. It means something very similar to mafia, like a “hired mafia person” or “day player mafia”. Someone in a mafia may have CHOSEN this person to “go talk to people”, “go participate” even “go tell them what to do”. It means they were “elected” to go do something even if they are not full time mafia at all. They may not even be a paid person… which looks mafia! Just be aware of what is going on. Sometimes an “elected official” person is BETTER than a mafia person if you use them properly.

More on this later. I need a break. Believe it or not, this is NOT AI writing.

. . . and…

Guess it is important also to know WHEN someone is working and not. That means as mafia, as non-mafia, as an elected person (official or not). Why? They may have a different manner, or attitude, mindset when working–like the “ON” switch is on while at work in the workplaces, and “OFF” while at home resting and having dinner. Also know the difference between someone “working on something” or “on a task or mission” and someone just standing around waiting for the next thing to do, or someone “at leisure” who is not working at all even while visiting a workplace. Some people are also “done working” and “lost their job”… it means they are no longer involved or responsible for work related anything. Someone unemployed, not under a contract, lost their title or position… may lose interest and become someone very different over time. They are no longer known for the job they used to do. How many people have you met that are “no longer a high school student” for instance? How many military people have you met that “are no longer in the service”? What about all those adults you met that are “no longer children”?

If someone is no longer mafia… what do expect them to be like? What if an “elected official” is no longer in the position, no longer has a title, is doing other things in life? Yeah well… people do change over time. They may develop new perspectives, new interests and have new responsibilities. “The past is past.”

In Hollywood there is something people may not pay close attention to: changing actors for a character. How many different actors have played Batman for instance? When that actor “leaves the role” and goes to work on a new production as a… dad… or horseback rider… or a space traveler… do you still refer to them as “Batman”? Not likely. You may say, “Wow, he was really great as Batman!” or “She was really not good as Batwoman.” Same thing in society. People change roles. You need to appreciate what it is they are IN THE NOW. If they did good in the past, you should respect that too. It’s being fair. Some people may have been great “in the mafia”. Others, not so good. Same for “elected officials”, and also non-mafia people. Some mafia people are not good at being non-mafia! lol.
